Double-sided tape application on envelopes creates a clean and convenient peel-and-seal closure. The tape is applied to the closing flap while its protective release liner remains in place.
When the envelope is ready to be sealed, the user removes the liner and presses the flap closed. This method can be used for document envelopes, courier envelopes, e-commerce envelopes and other special paper or cardboard envelopes.

The best option therefore depends on the envelope material, production quantity, required adhesion and frequency of format changes.

Is double-sided tape suitable for every envelope material?
The correct tape must be matched to the paper or cardboard surface. Printed, coated, laminated and recycled materials should be tested before production to confirm the required adhesion.
Does the application require a separate gluing system?
No. Double-sided tape already contains the adhesive and its protective release liner. A separate hot melt gluing system is not required.
Can a tape applicator be installed on an existing envelope machine?
Yes, installation on a compatible existing machine may be possible. The available space, envelope transport, controls and required tape position must first be evaluated.
